McDonald Lake Cabin Campground is located in the Misty Fjords National Monument Wilderness within the Tongass National Forest, Alaska. It is situated on the east end of McDonald Lake. Access to the cabin is generally by floatplane, which is about a 45-minute flight from Ketchikan, Alaska, depending on weather conditions. Boat access is also possible but it requires a long boat ride and knowledge of the local waterways.

  • There's an outside toilet (pit-type privy) available.
  • Users need to bring their own sleeping bags, cookware, and utensils.

Additional Facilities:

  • A rowboat with oars may be provided for guests to use on the lake. Visitors must bring their own life jackets.
  • Should be noted that there is no cell phone coverage in the area.
